The scientific policy of the laboratory aims at a proper balance between fundamental innovative developments and effective, robust and solidly founded answers to practical industrial proble ms within complex societal issues. One of two permanent teams, called &#8220;Digital Science and Engineering (DSE) team&#8221; and involving about ten researchers, is devoted to modeling and numerical simulation. Its strengths hinge on two points: putting forward appropriate models for specific mechanical media and developing well-suited, efficient and innovativenumerical methods. To reach these challenging goals, MSSMat fully takes advantage of the CentraleSup\u00e9lec and ENS Paris-Saclay&#8217;s Moulon Mesocentre environments and keeps on promoting HighPerformance Computing (HPC).<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Duration:<\/strong> 12 months<\/div>\n<div><strong>Location:<\/strong> MSSMat, CentraleSup\u00e9lec, 3 rue Joliot-Curie, 91190 Gif-sur-Yvette, France<\/div>\n<div><strong>Beginning of contract: <\/strong>The position is available from January 2019 or as soon as possible hereafter<\/div>\n<div><strong>Permanent researchers in the project team: <\/strong>B. Tie (CR CNRS, HDR, MSSMat), D. Solas (MCF, ICMMO), A.-S. Mouronval (IR, MSSMat), J.-H. Schmitt (Pr., MSSMat), D. Aubry (Pr.,MSSMat).<\/div>\n<div><strong>Educational qualifications\/Required skills:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>Candidates should have a recent PhD degree (obtained preferably after January 2017) in Computational Mechanics, Material Science, Applied Mathematics or a related field, and have a strong background of finite element methods, wave propagation in solid media.
