Presentation of CSMA Juniors

The French community in Structural Mechanics, organized within the CSMA (Calcul de Structures et de Mécanique Appliquée) association, established in 2016 a dedicated section for early-career researchers, known as CSMA Juniors. This initiative targets CSMA members under the age of 40 — including doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and junior permanent staff — and is driven by the association’s strong tradition of scientific engagement and collaboration. The principal objectives of CSMA Juniors are as follows:

  • To foster interaction and networking among early-career researchers;

  • To promote the scientific contributions of young researchers both within CSMA and to national research bodies;

  • To facilitate collaborative research activities;

  • To ensure the dissemination of relevant information pertaining to the professional development of young researchers;

  • To propose original and valuable scientific initiatives;

  • To support CSMA in its broader activities, including strategic decision-making, the organization of conferences and mini-symposia with innovative formats, and communication through newsletters and social media platforms.

Relationship with the ECCOMAS Young Investigator Committee (EYIC)

The ECCOMAS Young Investigator Committee (EYIC) was established with the aim of advancing ECCOMAS initiatives among early-career researchers (under the age of 40). It seeks to strengthen collaboration among its members and to advocate for the interests of young researchers within the broader ECCOMAS community.

The EYIC comprises representatives from national and regional young researcher associations affiliated with ECCOMAS, including: AIMETA (Italy), APMTAC (Portugal), BNCTAM (Belgium), CEACM (Austria), CSMA Juniors (France), ERCOFTAC (Italy), FMS (Finland), GACM (Germany), GAMM (Germany), GAMNI/SMAI (France), GRACM (Greece), IACMM (Israel), NMC (Netherlands), NOACM (Norway), ONIV (Russia), SEMA (Spain), SIMAI (Italy), SSCM (Serbia), SWICCOMAS (Switzerland), TNCTAM (Turkey), and UKACM (United Kingdom).
